Chairs - C2 Folding Chair

C2 Folding Chair

As the name implies, the second Trannon chair, designed in 1980/81 using much of the C1 detailing.

A versatile upright chair which has been used for dining, meeting and conference rooms, museum seating and on luxury yachts. It is also an excellent chair from which to work. It has been specified as public seating for the Imperial War Museum and meeting room chairs for the Royal Fine Arts Commission for Scotland. Most recently they were selected by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners for Maggie's Cancer Caring Centre at Charring Cross Hospital.

The C2 is comfortable, very light, flexible and folds.

The technical innovation is its steam bent back which has a unique compound curve formed from solid ash, this gives the chair generous lumber support. It is retained by threaded elm knobs which when loosened, allow it to fold.

The seat is full grain hide, laced onto the frame and allowing the back and front to be independently tensioned. There are 2 leather colours, tan and black. Feet are non-marking rubber.
